  In early 1997 CTI undertook the notification of all potential fabric suppliers of the requirements of the Department of National Defence’s "Clothe the Soldier" program and has organized annual CTI-DND conferences and a Military Textiles trade show since 1998. CTI has also coordinated participation by Canadian textile manufacturers in NATO combat clothing and equipment displays in Oslo in 1997, Prague in 2000, and Nitra in 2003.
